Question
If I remember correctly, Steve once said not to give to beggars when it seems clear that they are able to work and/or will spend the money they get in un-useful ways, but sometimes a person like this asked me for money and I get struck by their lonely appearance and I give them something anyway, just to show that I see them and give them a chance to talk to me if they wish. What do you think? Right Intention or getting out of my feelings of helplessness toward their Dukkha is an easy way and give them the ability to cause more harm?
